Day 8 Cycle 1

I am half way there. I am feeling really good. I am really getting into working out. Getting a little obsessive but hey there could be worse things to love. I have lost an inch of my hips and thighs. I have lost 4 lbs. My sugar craving are almost completely gone and my energy level is awesome. The first 4 days were tough, now i feel like I can see the finish line.

Day 6 Cycle 1

Almost a week done. I feel pretty good. My heartburn is gone and I am down 4 lbs. Thats right 4 lbs. That alone gets me through wanting a pop or pasta. I know once cycle 1 is done I can add more foods in and I will be hopefully 10 lbs lighter by day 17.

Day 5 Cycle 1

So I am on day 5 of 17. I am down 3 lbs. that's the only thing keeping me going. This is so not easy. I am having major sugar craving but I know they will pass. I don't need all that junk in my body. Overall I physically feel pretty good I am sleeping better. Mentally i am grumpy. i want a pop and some chocolate. That's when I pull out my pictures. I am done being the fat one. DONE!!! I can do this and I will do this. only 12 days left. I think I can I think I can.

The 17 day diet

So I am going to be following The 17 Day Diet. Here is a little background on the plan itself.

Created by Dr. Mike Moreno, The 17 Day Diet has been featured on The Doctors and the Dr. Phil Show.

The 17 Day Diet is a weight loss plan that was initially created to avoid the holiday weight gain. But the beauty about the diet is that it can be used at any time throughout the year to shed a few pounds.

Every 17 days you’re changing what you’re doing. "We call it metabolic, or body, confusion,” Dr. Mike explains.

Here are the four cycles of The 17 Day Diet:

* Cycle 1: Accelerate. Encourages rapid weight loss, cleansing and fat burning. Discourages fat storage.
* Cycle 2: Activate. Resets the metabolism.
* Cycle 3: Achieve. Develop good eating habits, re-teach yourself how to eat carbs.
* Cycle 4: Arrive. A combination of the first three Cycles. On weekends, enjoy your favorite foods.

The 17 Day Diet also features a 17-minute exercise routine you should do as well as tons of tips and strategies to avoid food pitfalls.

The book though can only be purchased online through its website.

So today was day 1 of cycle 1. I took pics of me now. i am horrified by them but they are good motivation. I gotta say. I was hungry today and felt deprived. Hopefully it gets easier and I start to see results.
On top of doing the 17 Day Diet I take a dance class 2x a week and add Zumba is 1-2x a week.

A little about me

Like so many moms out there I have put on weight over the years. As a mom of 3 small children I was more focused on everyone else than on me. One day I realized I am 60 lbs overweight. How did this happen?
I recently turned 30 and decided I need to make time for me. I want to be healthy and feel good about me. So that is what I am doing. I am going blog my weight loss journey. The good, the bad and the ugly.
